The concept of location and how to describe it is expanded in the 2nd grade as well as a deeper understanding of types of patterns.

- Drawing and deconstructing shapes and figures
- Understanding and explaining locations of objects
- Describing and extending repeating patterns, growing patterns, and shrinking patterns
Representing Data
In the 2nd grade, your child will learn to represent data using many different graph types as well as how to read and describe the displayed data.
Some of the things your child will learn:
- Collecting and organizing data into tally charts, line plots, bar graphs, etc.
- Reading, understanding and describing represented data
- Describing simple everyday probability
